Whos paid and who hasn't as I saw a post saying if anyone hasn't paid by the 25th the unpaid rings would be offered to someone else. There is no secret to trapping Amar just feed right and the right time simple as that.
Guest- Guest
P.S. ALL birds are still here, healthy and flying well dispite the cold wind we have had the last few days so you wont be paying for nothing. As I said I'm not known for losing many birds so they are in good hands even though I say it myself.

Quick update for those that are interested. Not too much to say really other than all the birds are still here and flying very well. I have been busy sorting out something to train them in as my last panier was ruined due to a flood we had. Had the good fortune to be told of some pigeon crates that were up for auction in Hereford poultry market so went along and bought one. It was far too big to fit in a car so did a little chopping about and the pic's below are the result. Could get 40 pigeons in the two of them so will be plenty of room for the 34 here to train. Basket training will start soon as the weather picks up and they will be up the road shortly after, all being well!

Ring list of birds still here and trained up to the 20 mile point. Not been plain sailing as had quite a few hawk strikes and 3 of these listed are showing signs of very narrow escapes. Still 22 YB's here as of today to race but not gone quite as planned but once they are liberated its in the lap of the God's round here thesedays as regards hawks and falcons. Good luck to all who still have an interest and to those who no longer have a bird/birds you have my apologies but believe me you will be nowhere near as disapointed as I am with the things that have happened

Well the birds still here that are in one piece (16) have been sent tonight so f ingers crossed please as looking at the forecast it might be a tough little outing for them and but for the fact of doing this I probably wouldn't of been sending them this week. I have just one other bird remaining, GB09H08895, which hasn't been sent as it returned from yesterdays training toss from Chepstow this morning and was a little worse for the experience but hopefully it will be OK for next week.
Ring No's sent are :-

Good luck to you all that have birds still here to race and comiserations to the ones that haven't but believe me the fact so many have fallen prey to whatever hurts me far more.

Right I am not really in the mood for this but just a quick note to let people know whats happened with the race today. Birds were liberated at 4-10pm from Frome, a distance of 59 miles 157 yards to me into a light SW wind. Of the 7 members that had sent birds only 3 got any birds home from this race, I have 2 of only 7 birds that made it home in our club. The 2 pigeons that made it home were GB09H08891 and GB09H08894. Winning velocity I'm not sure of but not much better than the 819ypm of my first bird so to say I've had a guts full of this is an understatement. I did have a bird return from a few days ago which was lost in training, GB09H08879 so leaving a total of 4 birds here now. I will of course keep you informed as to any birds that return.

Sorry to hear this Mark, but I have to say the biggest problem we have in pigeons today, any many wont like to hear this, but it is undoubtedly mobile phone masts. They are causing havoc with the birds navigation system. JMHO

My mate is packing the game in over this, said it isn't worth the bother, hawks bad enough but to have your birds thrown away like they were is one happening too many for him. Very as he is a top pigeon man of 50 odd years experience and he isn't alone in those thoughts round here either, which for the long term of pigeon racing in this city is quite serious. No birds have homed today but not surprising as it has rained heavy here for most of it.

you will still get them by next week, the bigest threat to them was wires, that can have a big impact on birds and the bops of cource, i think the army is switching something on,and off radar patrol or some such thing
Guest- Guest
Think the truth of the matter is human error in this case. The first part of it was not putting the race back 24 hours, the convoyer had already had one night in the vehicle (4x4 pick up not a comfy bunk in a truck) in the rain followed by a day of rain which is not pleasent and indeed unfair on him in view of the fact it was all forecast days before, on the rain stopping saw a bit of an oportunity and went for it to avoid another miserable night! I might be wrong but seems the Black Country Fed were at the same race point and held so tells me there was something not right as the golden rule of convoying is longest fliers go first and that would of been them not us! I know there was rain mist and generally unsuitable conditions to liberate all over that part of England and thats the reason why the Welsh National held over at Newbury also. I think you will agree that the first YB race is the worst possible race to "take a chance on", as although well trained it is a whole set of new and unnerving experiences to the poor birds and they should be treated as carefully as possible and not liberated till everything is 100% right. In this particular case even the experienced ones with 2 races under their belts failed to make home on the day from 60 miles so what chance did the first timers have? Flick a coin theres the answer! The thing that really gets to me is no one will hold their hand up and admit anything was wrong but that error has caused not only me, but many others one hell of a lot of disapointment and aguish not to mention what its done to the poor birds and in due course will probably be costing this sport members! Not making excuses before anyone sugests that, I'm just very P***ed off about it as I had done every thing right and not saying I would of won but the birds should of been home from there simple as that.

I have just spoken to Amar regarding this one loft race as I feel under the circumstances it is only fair to return all entry fees to the entrants due to such heavy losses and sheer lack of birds to be able to send. I know I said it would be last birds standing but did not expect the season to go the way it has and although there is still a few birds here it is very unlikely I will be sending them to many of the races if any at all. Please feel free to put any comments on here or just contact Amar who will sort out a refund for you. You have my sincere apologies for this farce.
