    don't just pick the biggest birds, if your offered any to pick from a fancier, as some times you can waste 2-3 years of your time with them, to find out they ain't to good, look for birds that are healthy, look racy and generally sit on top perches

    never turn down help from anyone cos you may need them find fancier in youer area visit him ask can you come round and sit and pick his brain most will say yes if its no he is not true fancier look listen and learn

    Never mix information given by more experienced flyers. Decide to follow one man/woman's advice for the year and stick with it. If it doesn't work you can always try something different the year after.

    if you go to by birds
    ask if they have prize cards not pedergrees
    for the birds the cards show that the birds have done the job
    we all can right a pedagree :D

    bit of advice to new starters , just because the fancier isnt a household name , doesnt mean he/she has rubbish birds.
    there are many fanciers who just like to take part and have bred winners for other fanciers.
