I had two latebred youngsters pair up mid December. They were in a 10’ X 8’ section with 25 other latebreeds that fly out every day. The pair had eggs in the corner of the loft and I never took much notice ov. I let the birds out every day and the pair leave the eggs for well over an hour while flying. They did this all over Christmas and we had temps of just below 0 at the time. But for the last 4-5 days the cock refused to leave the eggs, I looked under him today and the eggs have hatched. Eggs left for over an hour regularly at conditions and they hatch. If I did not see it I would not have believed it.

I'm not even in a club yet, god knows when I will be getting rings. I have ordered 20 from RPRA just to keep me going but if these arrive late I will have to put last years rings on um.

Re: Eggs hatch.
My local club holds its AGM on Thursday, I go to the club house (pub) on Friday so I may be able to get rings Friday.
All the clubs round my way only let you join at the begining of the year at there AGM. I started with Pigeons in Feb 08 and was told this. I had already purchased young birds and stock. It put me off racing pigeons having to wait almost a year to join and fly the birds, so much so I kept Tipplers and WEFTs. It seems daft to me the sport is in decline and new members cannot join.
