Having spent all my life in Pigeons I am passionate about getting involved in promoting the sport to children. I need a few ideas about what I should take with me when I visit schools to talk to the children. The obvious things would be a few birds in a basket, and some pictures on my laptop. Any Suggestions please would be gratefully appreciated. Thanks

Re: Promoting Our Sport in Schools
Well done for wanting to share your passion with the schools Bob, I have often thought about this myself and wonder what things I would also take along if I ever did pluck up the courage. I think one thing I would definately take along as well as pictures, clocks, any old memorabilia I could lay my hands on would be as many stories regarding war pigeons as possible. My thoughts on this are if the school kids heard some of these stories, either read by yourself or the teacher prior to your visit, they would maybe understand just how amazing these creatures are that we befriend and care for. Just another wee idea, hope it helps :)

A very interesting video to show kids, is Marathon In The Sky, excellent, and gives an indepth vision of the sport of pigeon racing.

Why don't you take some pictures of fancy pigeons too, some kids may be into the fancy breed as well as the racing bird, (just a thought)
