hi harry, as far as i know the advantages of using the dark system is that the ybs can be flown the full yb program as they are not dropping to bits with the moult, unlike the naturals which will be heavy in the moult usually half way through the program......
by the time yb racing starts they will have moulted the body but not all the flights and so compared to naturals they will be like yearlings....fanciers are usually of the opinion that naturals will be 15 mins behind the darks......(so im told)

dont all jump on me and dissagree,im only trying to give my interpritation to a member who has asked, its only my views based on what ive read or been told....so if anyone knows better let us know. :Very Funny:

hi harry, as far as i know just pair up as normal/when you would pair up anyway.....some fanciers put the ybs onto dark as soon as the ybs are weaned, but i know some who put them onto dark when the clocks go forward for some reason......
